Driveway is very tricky but that's how things are on the lakes. Parking was tricky but not bad considering the weekend. The coconut shrimp was cooked just right, and the dipping sauces are good. Crab cakes have real crab and very little filler if any. I should have asked if there was anything else to substitute. I was expecting a lobster salad kind of thing with celery, etc. The lobster roll, as previously reviewed was super. Service is excellent even though we ran her ragged. SaladsĪre big enough to count as your entree. They have paper straws! Food is excellent. Even though it is outside dining, we had a breeze which made it. From corporate events and business meetings to family reunions, rehearsal dinners and everything in between MiNGO has a great private dining space for Beaverton and the West Side region. This is a lakeside/boat launch marina restaurant with anĪMAZING set of gift shops. We went on Hall of Fame Induction Sunday, and surprisingly it was not overcrowded and overwhelmed!! A Plus.
I think I have only made it to dessert here once, but I do believe they are all homemade. The Sleeping Lion with goat cheese and bourbon maple bacon jam is delicious. All you taste is lobster, which is all you should taste! They have great burgers and salads. They stuff it with lightly dressed, perfectly cooked lobster. The lobster roll is always a winner here. It was a great night for a steaming hot bowl of clam chowder. Better than some island resorts I’ve visited. Although the temperature was more conducive to a hot toddy, I had to have one final rum punch. I bundled up in my winter coat and off I went (the restaurant is not heated, which accounts for the seasonal schedule of Memorial Day to Columbus Day - they do have heat lamps though). This was their last weekend for the season, so. I wrote a review a year ago, and I’m happy to report that everything was as good as ever! I now live in the area, so I was fortunate enough to visit 3 times this year. You can't miss with whatever house-made pasta is on the weekly lineup. Penne al sugo de carne (fork-tender beef in an espresso tomato sauce) has been available forever, and deservedly so, as has the crab with lemon cream sauce. Start with the bread served with rich, flavorful olive oil before choosing the beet salad with goat cheese or the understated Caesar. The setting is casual in the main restaurant with a scattering of tables and a counter overlooking a bustling open kitchen. Happily, Bar Mingo absorbs the waiting crowd and it’s a fine place to sip a cocktail, or you may just enjoy the limited array of small plates. The owners understand the key to Italian cooking is fresh ingredients, simply prepared. Now that we live on Lopez Island, Bar Mingo is what I miss most. People wait up to two hours on the weekends to eat here, and for good reasons. beyond kind to my wife who has Alzheimers. The menu changes weekly, but the staff has stayed the same for years. In an industry marked by constant change, Caffe Mingo's quality Italian cooking remains consistent.
